Dipu Moni is a well-known Bangladeshi politician and former Foreign Minister of Bangladesh. Following the huge victory of Awami League in the 2019 general election, the party appointed her as the country’s first female Minister of Education. Previously, she also served as the first Foreign Minister of Bangladesh.

Dipu Moni was born on December 8, 1965, in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She comes from a politically background family where her father MA Wadud was a founding member of the Bangladesh Awami League. Her father was widely notable for his role during the Language Movement of the country. Wadud was the first General Secretary of the East Pakistan Chhatra League.
Moni studied at Holy Cross College and passed HSC from the college. Then she admitted into the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital and completed MBBS. She received LL.B degree from National University of Bangladesh.
Then Moni achieved Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. She also achieved masters of Laws from the University of London. Finally, she is a lawyer of Bangladesh Supreme Court.
