Her mother Sheikh Rehana, is the older sister of Sheikh Hasina, prime minister of Bangladesh. The founder of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is her maternal grandfather.

Her father, Shafiq Siddiq was a famous journalist and mother, Sheikh Rehana is Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s daughter. Booby is her elder brother. Although, she was born in London, but she passed early childhood in Bangladesh. She studied at University College London and completed graduation in English Literature. Then, she completed Master’s degree from King’s College London and also completed second Master’s degree in Politics, Policy and Government
