Her mother Sheikh Rehana, is the older sister of Sheikh Hasina, prime minister of Bangladesh. The founder of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is her maternal grandfather.

Her father, Shafiq Siddiq was a famous journalist and mother, Sheikh Rehana is Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s daughter. Booby is her elder brother. Although she was born in London, she passed her early childhood in Bangladesh. She studied at University College London and completed graduation in English Literature.
