Stephen Hawking was born on January 8, 1942, in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England to Frank Hawking and Isobel Hawking. His father Frank Hawking was a biology researcher whereas his mother Isobel Hawking was a political activist.
Hawking’s parents moved to Oxford from North England for safety during the Second World War where Isobel gave birth to the greater scientist. After the war, they reside in London. He has two younger sisters named Philippa and Mary and an adopted brother named Edward.
Stephen Hawking started schooling at the Byron House School, in London. He studied at St Albans High School for Girls from 1950 to 1953 erstwhile boys got the chance to study at the girls’ school until 10 years old.
Then he moved to the boys’ school, he was a moderate student during schooling. He was so much passionate about science from early childhood but his father dreamed of his son will be a doctor like his mother.

Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) during his studying cosmology at the University of Cambridge at 21 years old. The disease shut down nerves that controlled his muscles.
At that time, the doctor predicted him two and a half years to live. He is a successful writer who has written or co-written a total of 15 books. He got the worldwide acclamation for his book ‘A Brief History of Time’. He was elected one of the youngest Fellows of the Royal Society in 1974. Theoretical cosmology and quantum gravity were his main subject for research.
Personal Life:
In his personal life, Stephen Hawking married two times. He met Jane Wilde, a young girl at a New Year’s party in 1963, just before he had been diagnosed with ALS, later the couple married in 1965. Together they gave birth to a son named Robert in 1957, and a daughter named Lucy in 1970. Their third child comes in 1979.
Hawking called his first marriage off in 1990 due to his nurse, Elaine Mason. He married Elaine Mason in 1995. There were several allegations against Elaine that she closed off Hawking from their children and physically abused him but Hawking denied the accusation.
