Shriya Pilgaonkar was born on April 25, 1989, in Mumbai, India into a filmy family. Her father Sachin Pilgaonkar is a famous actor, director, and producer of India and her mother Supriya Pilgaonkar is also a well-known actress. In school life, she wanted to be a professional swimmer and participated in many events where she won several medals. Later the lady decided to turn herself in a different way. She received her bachelor degree in Sociology from Xavier’s College, Mumbai. She also took a diploma in Acting from the Film and Television Institute, Pune.

Shriya Pilgaonkar made her acting debut in television at the age of only five with the serial ‘Tu Tu Main Main’ as Bittu directed by her father Sachin Pilgaonkar in 1996 which was aired on Star Plus. After 19 years later, she again appeared on television playing one of the female lead roles Ishanvi in ‘Stupid Cupid’ directed by Reshu Nath in 2015.
Shriya entered into the stage with the English play ‘Freedom of Love’ where she played as a child role in 1996. Then she acted in other three English plays ‘Internal Affairs’, ‘Common People’ and ‘Bombay Dying’. She showed off her brilliant acting performances in those plays and highly applauded.
Shriya kicked off her film journey with ‘Ekilti Ek’ directed by her father Sachin Pilgaonkar in which she starred as Swara in 2013 for which she was awarded for ‘Maharashtra State Government Award’ for Best Debut Actress. In 2015, the actress appeared in Claude Lelouch’s romantic comedy movie ‘Up Plus Une’ which screened at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2015. In the film, she starred with Jean Dujardin and Elsa Zylberstein. Next year, the actress acted in the hit film ‘Fan’ with Shah Rukh Khan.
The multi-talented lady directed three short films in her career. She first directed ‘The Painted Signal’ in 2012. In 2013, she worked in another short film ‘Dresswala’ and in 2015, the lady appeared with Documentary film ‘Panchgavya’.
