Manna was a superstar in the film industry of Bangladesh. His real name is SM Aslam Talukder but better known by his film title Manna around the country. Manna acted in more than 200 movies within his short career life. He was also a film producer, in 2006 won the National Film Award for his terrific acting performance.
Early Life:
Manna was born on December 06, 1964, at Elenga, Tangail, East Pakistan. After completing HSC, he entered the film arena through a talent search program for the new face of the National Film Development Corporation. Then he established himself as the best actor in the film industry of Bangladesh. Manna became a heartthrob hero by portraying the role in favor of deprived people in the cinema.
Manna Career:
Manna made his debut in the film industry of Bangladesh with the movie ‘Tauba’ in 1985 but his first released movie was ‘Pagli’ directed by Kazi Hayat. During the 90s, the obscene movie trend started but he brawled against the trend strongly and won his mission. He released some decent movies in the film industry of Bangladesh during that time like Danga, Ammajan, and Abbajan. His acted Ammajan has created a fierce stir in the box of Dhallywood.
Manna acted in various movies as a second hero prior to play role in the ‘Kashem Malar Prem’. He played the role of a protagonist in the movie for the first time, the movie impressed the audience very much, and that’s why he got lots of chances to act in more movies by the leading director of the country.
Manna Personal Life:
Manna married Sheli Quader and the couple has two sons. Bangladeshi biggest film star Manna who dominated the country’s film industry as an actor for two decades died of a heart attack on February 17, 2008. Manna was general secretary of the Bangladesh Film Actors Association until his death.
