Sridevi was born on August 13, 1963, in Sivakasi, Madras State, India to Ayyapan and Rajeshwari. Her father was a lawyer where the mother was a housewife. She has a sister and two stepbrothers. Sridevi’s father died in 1991 and mother died in 1996. She was so much passionate about media arena from early childhood and started acting as a child artist. She always accompanied by her mother to the film sets between 1972 till 1993.
Sridevi Career:
Sridevi kicked off the journey in the film industry with the movie ‘Thunaivan’ in 1969 as a child actress at the age of 4. She landed her first adult role in the movie ‘Moondru Mudichu’ in 1976 when she was 13 years old. Sridevi landed her career breakout role in the comedy-drama film ‘Himmatwala’ in 1983 and never looked back in the career. The movie ‘Himmatwala’ created a fierce stir enough in Bollywood box office and the actress raised her visibility in the eyes of critics and producer.
Then she made an outstanding acting performance in the movie ‘Nagina’ in 1986 with Rishi Kapoor. In 1991, Sridevi appeared in the Telugu movie ‘Kshana Kshanam’ and won Filmfare Best Actress Award (Telugu) for her excellent acting performance in the movie. Following a year, she made another wonderful acting performance in the movie ‘Lamhe’ with Anil Kapoor. Sridevi married Boney Kapoor in 1996. Together the couple has two daughters named Janhvi and Khushi. It is known from different sources that she had a love relationship with Mithun Chakraborty. It is also known that they married secretly later they denied the accusation. Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor is her stepson.
