Monir Khan is a Bangladeshi popular singer who reigned the music industry of Bangladesh during the 90s. Still, he is a heartthrob singer in the country even after lots of time from career began. By singing the song with the title Anjuna, he gets huge popularity. Monir Khan came to the timeline around the country with the releasing his first album ‘Tomar Kono Dosh Nei’. He is connected with the political party BNP like another popular singer Asif Akbar.

Monir Khan Early Life:

Monir Khan was born on August 01, 1972, in Maheshpur Upazila under the Jhenaidah district. Monir’s father was a school-teacher and his mother was a housewife. He started schooling at his native village primary school. Then Monir admitted to Bahramuddin High School in Chaugachha, Jessore.

In 1987, he passed S.S.C from the school. Monir Khan passed his H.S.C from Kotchandpur Degree College in 1990; he completed graduation from the same college in 1992. Monir Khan was very much passionate about music from early childhood; he learned music from various teachers, especially Reja Khusru taught him music prior to becoming famous.

Monir Khan Career:

Monir Khan became the listed singer of Khulna Radio by giving audition and singing on the station as a regular singer until August 1991. Then he comes to Dhaka in pursuing build up a career in the audio industry but there is none to give shelter to him in Dhaka.

However, a cousin gives shelter to Monir in Dhaka city. Monir Khan attempted to come to close the various composers like Milton Khandaker, he was a very popular composer that was time. Finally, he got a chance to meet Milton Khandaker, Khandaker was stunned by listening to Monir’s song and decided to release his album.

Monir Khan took 40,000 BDT from his school teacher father but Khandaker said to return his father’s total money and took the responsibility to release his cassette.

After four years of internship under Milton Khandaker, Monir released his first album ‘Tomar Kono Dosh Nei’ in 1996. The album gets huge popularity around the country; Monir Khan becomes famous overnight after releasing the album.

Then Monir didn’t remain stop, one after another he released several popular albums. The most noted- ‘Shukhe Thaka Holona Amar’, ‘Jor Kore Bhalobasha Hoyna’, and ‘Koto Shukhe Ashi Ami’. Already, he released 40 albums and 70 mixed albums.

As the best male playback singer Monir Khan won the National Film Award three times. At first, he won the National Film Award by giving his voice in the movie Premer Taj Mahal. He also won various awards in his career.

Monir Khan also worked in Ansar VDP, in February 2004, the Ansar chief awarded him for his outstanding work, the award is important in his life like National Film Award.

Monir Khan married a girl from Kishoreganj Tahmina Akter Eti in 2001. The couple has a daughter named Mushfika Akter.
