Mark Elliot Zuckerberg is an American computer programmer, entrepreneur, and co-founder of the most visited social networking site, Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg Early Life:
Zuckerberg was born in 1984 in White Plains, New York to his father, Edward Zuckerberg, a dentist, and his mother, Karen into a well-educated family. Zuckerberg began using computers and writing software at an early age. His father taught him Atari BASIC Programming in the 1990s, at the age of 12 he used Atari BASIC to create a messaging program named “ZuckNet”.
He enjoyed developing computer programs, particularly communication tools and games. His father used the”ZuckNet” program in his dental office so that the receptionist could notify him about an upcoming patient without yelling across the room. His parents hired software developer David Newman to tutor him privately for his deep interest in the computer.
Mark Zuckerberg Career:
Zuckerberg attended Phillips Exeter Academy, where he showed his talent he was good in literature and he earned a diploma in classics. He created an early version of the music software Pandora, which he called Synapse during his study in high school. A number of companies including AOL and Bill Gates‘s Microsoft wanted to buy the software, and hire the teenager before graduation. He refused the offers.
In 2002, Zuckerberg enrolled at Harvard University, majoring in computer science and psychology. At Harvard, he built a program called CourseMatch, and Facemash, those programs became widely popular. In 2004, Zuckerberg and his friends, Dustin Moskovitz, Chris Hughes, and Eduardo Saverin launched a site that allowed users to create their own profiles, upload photos, and communicate with other users.
This site is called Facebook. May have he got motivation for Facebook from Phillips Exeter Academy, the prep school where Zuckerberg graduated in 2002. He dropped out of Harvard University to devote himself to Facebook full-time.
