Tisca Chopra also known as Tisca Zareen Arora is an Indian Bollywood film and stage actress. She is a well-known face of television. The actress also appears in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Marathi films. The actress is now one of the top actresses of Indian film industry because she has already acted in about 50 movies and proved her talent.
Tisca Chopra Early Life:
Tisca Chopra was born on November 1, 1973, in Himachal Pradesh, India to a Punjabi family. She attended at the Apeejay School, Noida where her father was principal. Later, Tisca graduated in English literature from Hindu College, University of Delhi.
While at college, she started writing for several publications and acting in plays for an amateur theater group as well as college festivals. After finishing her education, the actress moved to Mumbai and trained in acting with notable theater artist Feroz Abbas Khan and Naseeruddin Shah.
Tisca Chopra Career:
Tisca Chopra started her career in theater in Mumbai and soon her work was seen Feroz Abbas Khan’s plays ‘All the Best’, ‘Mahatma vs. Gandhi’ and Satya Dev Dubey’s play ‘Inshah Allah’. She acted in ‘Dinner’ for which she won ‘Friends a Pulitzer Award’. The play and Tisca garnered a lot of praises from both critics as well as audiences and has traveled to many cities across the world.
Tisca made her film debut with Bollywood action movie ‘Platform’ directed by Deepak Pawar where she starred with Ajay Devgan in the lead role in 1993. That year, she appeared in other three Hindi movies where she showed off her brilliant performance and never went on back.
Then she acted in about 30 Bollywood movies. In 2007, the actress appeared against Aamir Khan in ‘Taare Zameen Par’ in which her performance was highly applauded. Her another commercial successful movie ‘Ankur Arora Murder Case’ directed by Vikram Bhatt was released in 2013. Tisca’s last Hindi film ‘Dear Dad’ was released in 2016 that was also remake in Tamil.
Apart from Hindi, Tisca starred in other languages movies including ‘Mayabazar’ in Malayalam, ‘Highway’ in Marathi and ‘Bruce Lee’ in Telugu.
