Patrick Shanahan is a well-known former American businessman and the United States Deputy Secretary of Defense for the Trump administration. He is also known by his full name Patrick M. Shanahan. Shanahan is appointed as the Acting Secretary of Defence although he has no foreign policy and military experience.

Patrick Shanahan was born on July 27, 1962, in Washington, United States. His father was a Vietnam Army officer. In fact, he learned the honesty and the value of education from his father Michael Shanahan who died in March 2010. He has two younger brothers named Matthew Shanahan & Raymond Shanahan.
Patrick Shanahan studied at the University of Washington as a native of Washington State and achieved a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in mechanical engineering. Then he completed a Master of Science degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.

Patrick Shanahan kicked off the journey of becoming involved in Computer Services and the Boeing 777 program. He was appointed as the Deputy Secretary of Defense on March 16, 2017. But Mattis shows disagreement with the decision.
