Mike Ditka was born on October 18, 1939, in Carnegie, Pennsylvania to Mike Ditka Sr. and Charlotte Ditka. He is the oldest of four siblings born to his parents. Ditka was brought up in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, and was passionate about the sporting world from early childhood, he played every sport he could.
He attended Titus School and Aliquippa High School and looked for a scholarship and eventually got a scholarship from Notre Dame, Penn State, and the University of Pittsburgh. But he finally decided to play for the University of Pittsburgh from 1958 to 1960. He was considered one of the best tight ends during his college days.
Mike Ditka Career:
Mike Ditka was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 1961 NFL Draft and hit big with 58 receptions. In the team, he introduced a new angle of the tight end position and continued to play for the next five years. Two years later in 196, he entered the NFL championship team. In 1972, he retired from professional football and joined the Dallas Cowboys as an assistant coach. Then he was recruited by the Chicago Bears in 1982 as the head coach. He also started working as a commentator on NBC and later ESPN.

Mike Ditka tied the knot with Marge Ditka in 1961; together they have four children named Matt Ditka, Mark Ditka, Megan Ditka, and Mike Ditka III. After twelve years together they divorced in 1973. Later he married Diana Ditka in 1977. He was arrested near O’Hare International Airport while returning from a game against the San Francisco 49ers and found guilty of DWI.
