Esha Deol was born on November 4, 1981, in Mumbai, India to famous Bollywood actor Dharmendra and actress Hema Malini. She is the younger sister of Ahana Deol. Her elder half siblings are Bobby Deol, Vijayta, Sunny Deol and Ajeeta through her father’s first marriage to Prakash Kaur.
Esha attended at the Mithibai College in Mumbai where she planned to become a fashion designer. She received training on the Odissi dancing style under Mumbai Guru Rabindra Atibuddhi. She was trained by and performs classical Bharatanatyam dance with her lovable mother.

Esha Deol decided to enter into the acting field of her parents and become a second-generation actress. She made her debut in Bollywood playing a lead role in Vinay Shukla’s romantic thriller movie ‘Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe’ in 2002 opposite Aftab Shivdasani where Sanjay Kapoor, Jaya Bachchan, and Anupam Kher played supporting roles. This movie was a box office failure but Deol received mixed reactions from critics upon her performance.
That year, Esha appeared in other two movies ‘Na Tum Jaano Na Hum’ as Esha Malhotra and ‘Kyaa Dil Ne Kahaa’ as Esha. Then she presented a super hit movie to her passionate fans ‘Loc Kargil’ in 2003 where her performance was well appreciated and the movie was commercially successful.
In 2005, the popular actress acted in director Harry Baweja’s movie ‘Main Aisa Hi Hoon’ against Ajay Devgan in the lead role. Sushmita Sen and Anupam Kher were also cast in the movie and it got maximum positive reviews at the box office. Esha starred in action thriller movie ‘Cash’ directed by Anubhav Sinha in which she was cast along with Ajay Devgan and Suniel Shetty in 2008.
In 2015, Esha appeared in multilingual drama film ‘Kill Them Young’ opposite Kishan Shrikanth that commercially became successful.
