Meghana Raj was born on May 3, 1990, in Mangalore, India as the only daughter of her parents. Her father Sundar Raj is an actor who has appeared in more than 180 movies, predominantly in the Kannada language. On the other hand, her mother Pramila Joshai is also a renowned Kannada movie actress and producer. Meghana is an educated actress who has completed Bachelor degree in Psychology from Christ University, Bangalore.
Meghana Raj Career:
Meghana Raj started her acting career as a child artist in the theater with her father Sundar Raj in the play ‘Jokumaraswamy’. In 2008, she acted in director Selvan’s Tamil movie ‘Krishnaleelai’ but it was not released due to unknown reasons.
However, then she appeared in the Telugu movie ‘Bendu Apparao R.M.P’ which was released in 2009 and it considered as she debuted film. In that movie, she played the role of a school teacher alongside Allari Naresh and Kamna Jethmalani and it became highly successful at the box office.
Meghana debuted in the Kannada film with a leading role in ‘Punda’ in 2010 and won Suvarna Film Award for best debut actress. next, she kicked off her acting in Tamil movie with Kaadhal Solla Vandhen’s movie ‘Boopathy Pandian’ which was commercially failed. But the actress signed up her first Malayalam movie ‘Yakshiyum Njanum’ in 2010. Though the movie was an average grosser, Meghana’s glamorous and sensual appearance in songs was a hit among the youth and she became favorites among them.
In 2011, Meghana starred in the Malayalam movie ‘Beautiful’ which was a success both commercially and critically and the critics considered it as one of the best Malayalam movies of the year. Her character Anjali, a home nurse won her good reviews and after that Meghana acted in several Malayalam movies.
