Geeta Basra was born on March 13, 1984, in Portsmouth, England to Punjabi Indian parents, Rakesh Basra and Parveen Basra. In siblings, she has a sister named Ruby Basra and a brother Rahul Basra. Basra received her secondary education from Portsmouth High School, Portsmouth. After completing higher education, she received training in acting from Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute, Mumbai. Actually, Basra wanted to be a criminal psychologist but turned out to be an actor.
Geeta Basra Career:
Geeta Basra made her film debut with the movie ‘Dil Diya Hai’ directed by Aditya Datt and Produced by Balabhai and it was released in 2006. In the movie, she played the role of Neha alongside Emraan Hashmi and Ashmit Patel. After that, she appeared in her second film ‘The Train’ as Roma against also Emraan Hashmi and got much popularity in Bollywood.
Then the actress did a number of music videos including Sukshinder Shinda and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s song ‘Ghum Sum Ghum Sum’ that got huge popularity and then took a long break from acting arena.
In 2013, she appeared as a special guest in Anand Kumar’s political action thriller movie ‘Zilla Ghaziabad’. After performing in that movie, Basra acted in several hit movies playing a lead role including ‘Bhaiyyaji Superhit’ and ‘Second Hand Husband’. Next, she starred in a Punjabi movie ‘Lock’ alongside Gippy Grewal and Gurpreet Ghuggi in 2016.

Geeta Basra married Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh on October 29, 2015, in Jalandhar, Punjab. She gave birth to a cute daughter named Hinaya Heer Plaha, born on July 27, 2016, in London.
