His father Govind Vidyarthi is a Malayali theater personality where the mother Reba Vidyarthi was associated with Kathak dancer who origin from Bengal. Ashish attended at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Mehta Vidyalaya and got acclamation for wonderful comedic and dramatic performance. He completed graduation degree in History from Hindu College.

Ashish Vidyarthi kicked off career journey in the showbiz industry acting in the theater. At first, he draws the attention of the audience when appeared in the television ‘Dastaan’ for antagonist role. Ashish made acting debut in the film industry with the movie ‘Anand’ in 1986 appearing in a minor role. Then he appeared in the movie ‘Hijack’. Ashish made a wonderful acting performance in the movie ‘Naajayaz’ with Ajay Devgan and Juhi Chawla in 1995.
