Shamim Osman is a well-known Bangladeshi politician origin in Narayanganj. He is a Bangladesh Awami League leader and parliament member from the Narayanganj-4 constituency. Shamim is a son the founding member of the Bangladesh Awami Muslim League AKM Samsuzzoha.

Shamim Osman Early Life & Education:
Shamim Osman was born on February 28, 1961, in North Cashara, Narayanganj, Bangladesh in a politics-oriented family. His father AKM Samsuzzoha was a great politician in Bangladesh and a parliament member at the Pakistani general election in 1970 and Bangladeshi general election in 1973. His mother Nagina Zoha is a homemaker.
Shamim has two brothers Nasim Osman was a member of parliament as a Jatiya Party politician and Salim Osman is a Jatiya Party politician as well as the Member of Parliament from Narayanganj.
He studied at Govt. Tolaram College, Narayanganj and earned a bachelor’s degree. Then he enrolled at the University of Dhaka and received a degree in law.
Shamim Osman Career:
Shamim Osman kicked off the formal political journey being the Member of Parliament in 1996 as an Awami League Leader. Then he went on self-exile in India and Canada when Awami League lost in the 2001 general election as well as Shamim. After nearly eight years of exile life, he returned to Narayanganj in 2009 when Awami League got power.
He lost to Selina Hayat Ivy in the Narayanganj City Mayoral election in 2011. However, in the 2014 general election, Bangladesh Awami League picked him to contest for the Narayanganj-4 constituency, dropping the incumbent Kabori Sarwar.
Controversy:
A 17-year-old student Tanvir Mohammad Toki was found dead after two days he had gone missing on March 8, 2013. Toki’s father Raifur Rabbi accused Osman’s family of killing his son. Bangladesh High Court denied anticipatory bail to Osman and his son Auyon Osman. But Shamin denied having any connection to the murder. In addition, he is embroiled in controversy for his straight political speech and for quarreling with Ivy on a live television program.
Personal Life:
Shamim Osman fell in love with his wife Osman Lipi while they were studying in Govt. Tolaram College. Then the couple married after a long courtship. Together the couple has a son named Auyon Osman, recently who married in a colorful wedding ceremony.
