In siblings, her elder sister Sonam Kapoor is a heartthrob actress of Bollywood and younger brother Harshvardhan Kapoor is also an actor. Rhea is the niece of filmmaker Boney Kapoor, producer Mona Shourie Kapoor as well as actress Sridevi and actor Sanjay Kapoor. Actors Arjun Kapoor and Mohit Marwah are her cousins. She has completed her college studies at New York University, NYU and graduated in Dramatic Literature and Theatre Course.

Rhea Kapoor started her career in showbiz industry as a producer with director Rajshree Ojha’s comedy drama film ‘Aisha’ in 2010 where her sister Sonam Kapoor played the lead role with Abhay Deol. Cyrus Sahukar, Arunoday Singh, and Amrita Puri were in supporting roles and the movie became an average grosser at the box office.
Her second movie released on September 19, 2014, in which she also works as a producer with director Shashanka Ghosh. They cast Fawad Khan, Sonam Kapoor, and Kirron Kher as the lead roles while Ratna Pathak, Aami Reza as supporting roles. Recently, she is working in ‘Veere Di Wedding’ which is a romantic movie. It is now under pre-production and may be released in the early part of 2017.
