Selina Hayat Ivy is a popular Bangladeshi politician and physician who has been elected as Mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation for the third time. On January 16, 2022, she won the Narayanganj City Corporation election over Taimur Alam Khandaker. She holds the status of Deputy Minister as the mayor.
Early Life, Education & Family
Selina Hayat Ivy was born on June 5, 1966, in Narayanganj, East Pakistan, Pakistan to parents Ali Ahmed Chunka and Momtaz Begum. Her father was a former Narayanganj municipal chairman. She is the first among the five children of her parents.
Ivy studied at Deovogh Akhra Primary School. Then enrolled at Narayanganj Preparatory School and she studied up to the sixth grade. She passed SSC from Morgan Girls’ High School in 1982. In 1985, she got a great chance for higher education in Russia. She joined the Odessa National Medical University getting a scholarship from the Russian government.

Selina Hayat Ivy was the health and environmental affairs officer of Narayanganj City Awami League in 1993. She started active politics by participating in the municipal chairman election in 2003 and was elected the Chairman. Currently, she is the vice-president of the Narayanganj City Awami League.

The Narayanganj City Corporation Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy married Kazi Ahsan Hayat from New Zealand. Together the couple has two sons named Sharjil Kazi and Shadman Kazi.
