Gultekin Khan is a well Known Bangladesh poet and writer who is widely known as the former wife of renowned novelist Humayun Ahmed. Again the women draw media attention when she married Aftab Ahmad, an additional secretary of the youth and sports ministry.
Gultekin married Bangladeshi novelist, dramatist, screenwriter, filmmaker, songwriter, scholar, and lecturer Humayun Ahmed on April 28, 1976, while she studying at Holy Cross College, Dhaka. Then she studied at the University of Dhaka and completed a bachelor’s in English literature.
She dreamed off to be a doctor in early life but her early marriage decimation the dream. She had a massive talent and could be a doctor but sacrifices her dream to hold down and accompany her husband for his higher study abroad.
Humayun Ahmed falls in love with his daughter’s friend actress Meher Afroz Shaon decided to marry her. Eventually, Humayun divorced his first wife Gultekin Khan in 2002.
However, Gultekin married again Aftab Ahmed, an additional secretary of the youth and sports ministry in 2019, after 16 years of divorce from Humayun Ahmed. Aftab Ahmed also got a divorce 10 years ago from his first wife. Gultekin has three daughters named Nova, Shila Ahmed, and Bipasha Ahmed, and a son Nuhash Humayun.
