Irtiza Rubab, well known by her stage name Meera is a Pakistani film actress, TV presenter, model and leading philanthropist. She is the first Pakistani actress who acted in the Indian film and the movie ‘Nazar’ was the first Indo-Pakistani joint venture movie. She is such an actress who won the love of Pakistani people for the first time by presenting extraordinary and authentic performance. the actress is considered as one of the queens of Pakistani actresses.
Early Life:
Meera was born on May 12, 1977, in Lahore, Pakistan to Mohammad Syed Shafqat Shah and Syeda Zahra Bukhari. When she was young, her family moved to Kashmir from where Meera received primary education. They shifted to Sheikhupura where she finished secondary education from St. Wed School. She completed higher education from Kinnaird College for Women University.
In siblings; the actress has five brothers and sisters named Syeda Hussain, Syed Ahsan Abbas, Murtaza Ahsan and Rubab Aqsa all of them are established in their positions. The famous actress showed off her media talent in her school life also.
Career:
Before starting her acting career, Meera performed as a model and got popularity after airing first TV advertisement. Then she signed to the film industry as she had already got fame as a talented model. Meera kicked off her career in the showbiz industry in 1995, with the movie ‘Kanta’ in which she played the leading role. But in 1999, she presented a super hit movie ‘Khilona’ which earned nationwide appreciation and Meera won ‘Nigar Award’ which was the first award in her career.
Then, she appeared in ‘Inteha’ alongside Humayun Saeed and directed by Samana Peerzada, in which her authentic performance received significant praise and brought commercial success, at the same time Meera won her second ‘Nigar Award’ for the Best Actress in 1990. In 2004, she showed off an important role in ‘Salakhain’ that spread her image internationally. The glamorous actress’s other popular movies are ‘Baazigar’, ‘Ghar Kab Aao Gay’, ‘Nazar’, ‘Jab Tak Hain Hum’ and so many.
The worldwide famous actress Meera made her Bollywood debut with the musical thriller film ‘Nazar’ against Ashmit Patel directed by Soni Razdan in 2005. The movie was the first Indo- Pakistan joined venture. Her next movie was ‘Kasak’ opposite of Lucky Ali, though the movie failed commercially, Meera still working in Bollywood firmly. Her third movie ‘Paanch Ghantey Mien Paanch Crore’ has been faced with criticism but surprisingly, The Times of India had listed the film in ‘Bollywood’s Top 10 Bold Films’ category of 2012. Recently Meera is filming the movie ‘Shor Sharaba’ and also working in several commercials and will present with a new presentation.
Personal Life:
The bold actress has been criticized in showbiz industry as well as out of the industry for her scandalized personality. She constantly remains in news regarding her marriage issues and affairs with cricketer Shoaib Akhtar and Atiq ur Rehman. But Meera married Captain Naveed Iqbal on October 31, 2013, after a long courtship. Naved is two years junior to Meera.
