Prachi Desai was born on September 12, 1988, in Gujarat, India to Niranjan Desai and Ameeta Desai. She has a sister named Esha Desai who is very close to her. Prachi attended at the St. Joseph Convent School where she completed her schooling. Later she received her secondary education from Sinhagad College, Pune. Prachi won several prizes for active participation in dancing and acting competitions in her student life.
Prachi Desai Career:
The charming girl Prachi Desai started her acting career with Ekta Kapoor’s television serial ‘Kasamh Se’ where she played the lead role Bani Walia opposite Ram Kapoor in 2006. Prachi then participated in the dance reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ which was the Indian version of BBC Strictly Come Dancing on 7 September 2007 with choreographer Deepak Singh. She impressed the judges every week but was ultimately eliminated on 10 November 2007.
Later Prachi entered into the contest again via wildcard entry on 23 November 2007, that time she landed a spot in the grand finale of the dance show held on 15 December 2007. In the final, Prachi became the winner of the competition and was awarded the Dancing Star of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
Prachi Desai made her film debut with director Abhishek Kapoor’s musical drama film ‘Rock On’ in 2008. In the movie, actor Farhan Akhtar also made his successful Bollywood debut with Prachi. Along with them, it featured Arjun Rampal and Luke Kenny as the major roles. Then Prachi appeared in several super hit movies including ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’, ‘ Policegirl’ and ‘Azhar’. She was last seen in Shujaat Saudagar’s film ‘Rock 2’ in 2016.
