Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was born on December 3, 1973, in Faisalabad, Pakistan. He is the son of Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan, Nephew of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and grandson of singer Fateh Ali Khan. Fateh Ali was born in a traditional music loving family most of the male members are associated with music. Being inspired by the musician family member, he came to the music industry and leads the industry by his mind blowing voice. Rahat took a lesson on music from his uncle Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan used to perform in a different program with his uncle and was associated with the Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s Qawwali group. In 1985, Rahat toured in the United Kingdom with his uncle and performed well in the solo song.
The singer made his playback debut with the Bollywood movie ‘Paap’ for the song ‘Mann Ki Lagan’ in 2003. With his uncle, Rahat worked for the American rock band, Pearl Jam. He was the judge for the music show ‘Chhote Ustaad 2’ alongside Sonu Nigam. The singer was invited as a first Pakistani singer to 2014 Nobel Peace Prize, to perform its concert.
