Early Life
Raj Chakraborty was born on February 21, 1975, in Halisahar, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal to Shree Krishnashankar Chakraborty and Smt. Leela Chakraborty. His father worked at Rishi Bankim Chandra Colleges and his mother was a homemaker. Chakraborty comes from a humble background. He has two sisters who are well-settled.
He completed a bachelor’s degree in Arts from RBC College, Naihati. Raj was so much passionate about the media arena from early childhood and he left the home to pursue a career in the showbiz industry in a dispute with his parents.
Career:
After completing his education, he started acting in Kolkata but he didn’t get success on the track, later changed his plan and decided to turn his career into a film director. Raj made a debut in the direction of the telefilm ‘Nawder Chaand’ and got a success. He is also associated with the historical TV series ‘Mirakkel’ and ‘Dance Bangla Dance’.
Raj Chakraborty made his directorial debut in the film industry with the movie ‘Chirodini Tumi Je Amar’ in 2008 where Rahul Banerjee and Priyanka Sarkar are cast. Following the year, he made the blockbuster movie ‘Challenge’ where acts Dev and Subhashree Ganguly. The movie created a fierce stir enough in the Tollywood box office and the director got a positive acclamation from the critics and audience. In the same year, he gives a popular movie ‘Prem Aamar’.
In 2010, Raj made a terrific direction in the movie ‘Le Chakka’ where appeared Dev and Payel Sarkar. Then he directed the blockbuster movie ‘Dui Prithibi’, Jeet, Dev, and Koel Mallick starred in the movie. Raj made a terrific directorial performance in the movie ‘Bojhena Shey Bojhena’ where Soham Chakraborty, Mimi Chakraborty, Abir Chatterjee, and Payel Sarkar acted. The movie made a huge commercial success at the box office.
Then the talented director gifts some popular movies to the audience such as Kanamachi, Proloy, Borbaad, and Parbona Ami Chartey Tokey. Again, he comes to the timeline when made ‘Abhimaan’ in 2016 with Jeet, Subhashree Ganguly, and Sayantika Banerjee.

Raj Chakraborty had a love relationship with actress Mimi Chakraborty. After separation from the actress, he builds up relation with another actress Subhashree Ganguly and planned to marry her. It is reported, Subhashree Ganguly going to suicide suspect Raj began to reconnect with Mimi Chakraborty. Raj married Subhashree Ganguly on May 11, 2018, at the Bawali Rajbari with a colorful wedding ceremony.
